TouchBistro publishes a starting software price (its Point of Sale plan, and an Essentials bundle that includes hardware) but not the number that decides your real bill. The card processing rate is a custom "cost plus" figure quoted per venue, TouchBistro does not publish how many terminals or licences the starting price covers, and every add-on module is quote-only. Expect a sales conversation before you know the true monthly cost, which is why it shows as Get quote here rather than an estimate we cannot honestly calculate.
It does not say. TouchBistro processes payments itself through TouchBistro Payments (available to US customers only) and also supports Chase, Moneris and Worldpay. Its own FAQ states the rate "varies, as our payment partners will need to assess many factors before they give you a custom rate," including your credit history and sales volume. Square and Toast both publish flat rates, so if a knowable processing cost matters to you, compare those first.
Every module is quote-only: online ordering, reservations, loyalty, gift cards, marketing, kitchen display, inventory and labor management all carry no published price. One fee is confirmed in your favor, though: TouchBistro charges no commission on orders placed through its own online ordering, unlike third-party delivery marketplaces.
No. TouchBistro is built exclusively for restaurants and bars, around floor plans, table management, tableside ordering and coursing. A retail store would be better served by Square, Lightspeed or Shopify POS, all of which handle retail inventory and omnichannel selling properly. TouchBistro runs on iPad hardware and includes an offline mode that keeps taking payments when the internet drops, which is a genuine advantage in a busy venue.
TouchBistro is a restaurant-only, iPad-based point of sale, built around floor plans, table management, tableside ordering and coursing rather than general retail. It publishes a starting software price and an Essentials bundle that includes hardware, and it processes payments itself through TouchBistro Payments (US only) or via Chase, Moneris or Worldpay. What it does not publish is the number that matters most: the card processing rate is a custom "cost plus" figure quoted per venue, and every module (online ordering, reservations, loyalty, gift cards, kitchen display, inventory, labor management) is quote-only with no listed price. Support is 24/7 and there is no commission on its own online orders.
