About MailerLite

MailerLite is the most popular alternative to Mailchimp for small businesses that find Mailchimp too expensive or too cluttered. The interface is the cleanest in the category, the free plan covers 250 subscribers and 2,500 monthly emails, and the entry Comfort plan is among the cheapest paid starting points here.

Comfort covers basic automation and a send allowance of ten times your subscriber tier; the Power plan unlocks advanced workflows, A/B testing, a custom HTML editor and unlimited sends. SMS is not part of the marketing plans (it sits in a separate transactional product), which matters if you want email and SMS on one bill. MailerLite publishes prices up to 200,000 subscribers; above that it is a custom Enterprise quote.

MailerLite was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Common questions about MailerLite

The same questions US merchants ask before signing up.

  • MailerLite starts at $12/mo (Comfort) on the Comfort plan, and the price then steps up at every subscriber tier, so what you pay is decided by the size of your list rather than a single headline figure. The Power plan costs more at the same list size but removes the send limit and adds advanced automation. MailerLite publishes prices up to 200,000 subscribers; above that it is a custom Enterprise quote.

  • Yes: Yes (250 subscribers, 2,500 emails /mo). It is capped on two things at once, 250 subscribers and the monthly send allowance, so a small list that emails often can hit the send cap before the subscriber cap. It also limits you to three simple automations. It is a real plan rather than a trial, and it is the cheapest genuine starting point of the major platforms here.

  • The send allowance. Comfort gives you ten times your subscriber tier in emails each month, so a 1,000-subscriber list can send 10,000 emails. That is generous for most senders, but if you mail a small list very frequently you will hit that ceiling and need Power, which has unlimited sends. The calculator on this page already applies both caps, so the estimate moves when you change either your list size or your monthly sends.

  • Not in the marketing plans. MailerLite sells SMS in a separate transactional product, so you cannot buy email and SMS together on one Comfort or Power plan. If you want email and SMS on a single bill, Brevo and Klaviyo both include SMS in their marketing products.

  • MailerLite is cheaper at almost every list size and considerably simpler to use, which is why it is the most common destination for people leaving Mailchimp on cost. What you give up is breadth: Mailchimp has a far larger integration ecosystem and deeper e-commerce automation. If you mainly send newsletters and campaigns to a list you own, MailerLite does that for less. If your email is tightly wired into a store and a dozen other tools, check the integration list first.
