About Capital One

Capital One offers a range of small-business cards. We compare its Spark Cash cards: Spark Cash Select and Spark Cash, which are revolving credit cards, and Spark Cash Plus, a charge card designed to be paid in full with an option to carry part of the balance over time with interest. Every one of them pays flat cash back on every purchase and states that it charges no foreign transaction fees.

The fees differ in shape. Spark Cash Select has no annual fee. Spark Cash waives its annual fee in the first year and charges it after that. Spark Cash Plus charges an annual fee that is refunded in any year your net purchases reach a published threshold, and it has no preset spending limit.

The application asks for the owner's Social Security number and personal details to establish creditworthiness, and may be declined if there is a freeze with the credit bureaus. Sole proprietors can apply using an SSN. The pages read do not state whether the owner is personally liable for the debt, which network the cards run on, which bank issues them, or whether activity is reported to personal credit.
